Dressly Review: Frustrating, Opaque, and Potentially Predatory Subscription Tactics After downloading the Dressly app and subscribing to their weekly service, I immediately tried to cancel—only to find there is no way to do this within the app itself. Instead, you must email customer support to request cancellation. Upon emailing Dressly to cancel just minutes after subscribing, I experienced two unexpected and unexplained additional charges of $19.99 each. My total charges so far: $55.97. Dressly’s response was even more concerning. I was told I could receive a partial refund of $15.19, but only if I use the app and complete daily steps for seven consecutive days, then send proof via a screenshot to a different email address. This convoluted process practically guarantees additional charges during that time and is seemingly designed to wear customers down and make refunds difficult. Meanwhile, the $19.99 charges are declared non-refundable, with little to no explanation as to why. Numerous other consumers describe nearly identical experiences: unclear subscription terms, hidden and unauthorized payments, and hoops to jump through for even the smallest refund. The refund policy is both confusing and restrictive, with Dressly demanding ongoing engagement and offering only partial repayments in many cases. Attempts to remove credit card information, or find billing and cancellation options directly in the app, are futile. In summary, Dressly’s handling of subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds is at best poorly designed and at worst, intentionally deceptive. This model erodes trust and feels predatory—many users, including myself, would urge extreme caution with this service.
